
D1 Ultra-W: the wider stance and what its extra weight buys in payload
A quadruped's stance width is not a styling choice. It sets how far the feet can be planted apart, which sets how much side-to-side load the legs can resist before the machine has to correct with a step. The D1 Ultra-W widens that stance, and the catalogue prices the change in two numbers: 4 kg of added mass, 20 kg with battery fitted against 16 kg for the standard D1 Ultra, and a payload that goes from 5 kg to 10 kg.
